Upgrading from Premium to Family Plan

Hi, 

I'm considering switching from a Premium Subscription to a Family Plan so that my girlfriend can benefit from an ad-less Spotify too now that her yearly subscription to Apple Music is over.

Is the process as straight forward as to make the switch or do I have to somehow cancel my regular Premium subscription first?

Also, how is this going to play out with my Paypal's automatic payment autorization that's already in place?
