Hi,
I tried to invite a family member in to my spotify family premium subscription. I got the reminder mail that she should verify her account and as she tried to, it just doesn't work. Is it because she was "testing" the premium family subscription and so she counts as she were in a premium family subscription in the last 12 months? Resending the invitation or creating her as a family member again didn't work.
Help's here, @SmartAssGamer!
I'm afraid that if she's been in any Spotify Premium for Family plans within the past 12-months (owner or not), she'll need to wait out 12-months before she can rejoin 🙂 She should be good to use Spotify Premium on an individual account, though! Check it out: https://spotify.com/premium/
Cheers!
Thanks for the reply, but she hasn't been in a family subscription before, she only wanted to join my premium family subscription. It seems like a bug to me, she was trying to join and got like a "trial version" of my family subscription because she hasn't verified her subscription yet. And as she tried to verify her account it didn't work (error message just says that the verification didn't work, not something like "wrong address" or sth.) and now she can't join the subscription anymore neither through resending the invitation nor through recreating her as a new family member.
Greetings
Interesting! Thanks for the info, @SmartAssGamer!
Would you be able to ask for a screenshot of any error messages/codes that she's getting? Also, can you ask her to check her inbox (including Spam and Junk) for any emails from Spotify? 🔍
Cheers!
Hi,
First of all, she does get the invitation emails, and there are no other emails from Spotify in **bleep** or any other folder.
The attached picture shows the error message (which is unfortunatly in german, but would translate to "You can't join this Premium Family Subscription. Do you need help? Read our FAQ.") after entering the credentials, which were all correct.
Greetings
Thanks for that, @SmartAssGamer!
This happens when the address entered doesn't match the address of the owner of the Family Plan. Only people who live at the same address as the owner are able to join! 🙂
Cheers!
But she did enter the correct address, I checked, also I read other threads where the error message was more specific stating that the entered address didn't match the owners address or something like that. Are you sure that's the only option?
Greetings
Thanks for that, @SmartAssGamer!
In this case, I'd recommend reaching out to Spotify Support through either Twitter, Facebook or email! They'll be able to look under the hood, and see what's happening here 🙂
Cheers!
