combine 2 Premium for Family accounts into one

combine 2 Premium for Family accounts into one

Hi, both my wife and I have Premium family subscription accounts and we'd like to combine those into one Premium family subscription account. She invited me to join her Premium for Family account, and when I click on the Accept Invitation link in the email that gets generated by her, it just redirects me to the Subscription tab in my Account settings, which contains details about my Premium for Family account. No details on how to merge my account with hers.

I tried canceling my Premium for Family subscription, but when trying to click on the same Accept Invitation link, I'm redirected to the same Subscription tab in my account settings, which says my Family subscription will end at the end of my billing cycle.

How can I move my account under her Premium Family account?

Hey @Jalumbau! Welcome to the Spotify Community 🙂

I think you confused some things. Could you confirm the things I'll ask you please. Do you mean this: Right now you have two different accounts and you would like to merge them, so you only have one account left for both.

Or do you mean this: Right now you have two different accounts, both in a Spotify Family subscription offer, but not in the same Famlily, but in different families. You would like to add them both to the same Spotify Famuly plan.

Please correct me if I understood some parts wrong.

Have a nice day!

Hi Leo, thanks for the response. My scenario is the latter: both my wife and I have separate 2 different accounts, and both accounts are Family subscription accounts. So, instead of paying $16 twice a month, we'd like to merge our accounts together and pay $16 for only one Family subscription. Or, in other words, cancel my Family subscription where my and my daughters account exist, and move these 2 accounts under my wifes Family subscription.

Make sense?

@Jalumbau, makes total sense.

The first thing you'll have to do is to cancel your subscription. You can best do this from spotify’s homepage. When you're going to cancel your subscription, both you and your daughters won't have any premium anymore.

Then what you need to do is ask your wife to go over here and from there send you and your daughters an email with an activation link. You check your email (and Spam folder) and click on the activation link. Log in and enjoy your tunes! (Without overpaying) 🙂

Thanks Leo. I cancelled my Family subscription yesterday, and based on your advice below, I just cancelled my Premium subscription. I then went back to the email my wife generated yesterday to invite me to join her Family subscription, clicked on 'Accept Invitation', and it redirects me to the attached screen. There's no option anywhere for me to join my wifes Family subscription.

Hi @Jalumbau,

Sorry about that. I forgot to tell you that your Spotify Premium is going to cancel at the end of your payment cycle, so you don't lose money. You'll unfortunately have to wait until the 12/10, before you can enter your wife's family subscription.

Sorry about that!
