My Question or Issue

I took over my brother's Spotify since I use it more than him. He was/is a college student when he started the account. I am also in college so I was trying to change my plan to student premium, since I noticed that I must've mistakenly changed it to premium individual. However when I try to select it I receive "Premium Student applies only to students at an eligible college or university for a maximum of 4 years." He has been in college for more than four years but I took the account over from him. I changed the payment method to my card. Changed it to my email and name. Could not change the birth date but that doesn't bother me. I would still be eligible for two more years of student premium based on the information given to me since I'm in my second year of college (starting the fourth semester this next week).
How can I fix this?

Hey @-h75w5te_awc6 ,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

With Premium Student, eligible college/university students get Premium at a discount for up to 4 years (you need to renew after each year). 🙂

If you'd like to benefit from the discounted pricing, you'll need to create your own Spotify account at https://spotify.com/signup. You can transfer your playlists to your new account by following these steps.

Keep in mind that, since you already used your payment method for an existing account, you won't be eligible for a Premium trial on your new account.

I hope this clears things up 🙂
