Can I shift to the family plan while I am still covered in a student discount year? Also I have heard that we can use the student plan for a maximum of 4 years. I am enrolled in a 5 year course, I have already used it once and I am planning to shift to the family plan (  thank u covid (⋟﹏⋞)  ) and I wanna continue the student plan later on, so is it possible or do the 4 years need to be consecutive?

You're able to switch plans while being on the Premium Student plan. If you're creating a new Family plan, you can get started by switching the plan from your account page. 

The 4 years don't need to be consecutive. Every 12 months you'll be asked to renew your discount (since the discount is valid for 12 months 4 times), so whenever you decide to switch back, you will just be asked to re-verify your student information.
