Deleting account with student discount and applying student discount to the new one

So I made an account for my boyfriend and gave him a very embarrassing name without knowing I couldn't change his username.....So I was wondering if it's possible to delete his new account and create a new one with his same student discount or if I can somehow change his username.

Unfortunately at this time it is not possible to change an account’s username. The closest you can get is to link your Spotify account to your Facebook profile so that your Facebook display name is the one shown on your account.

If you are really desperate to change your username, it is possible to create a new account as you said. However, you won't be able to apply for the student discount until your last student discount ends.

But if I delete that account with the student discount, won’t it let me
apply it to the new account?

Hey @shirleyyyyyyy!

Unfortunately, you can  only apply for the student discount once every 12 months, even if you cancel the subscription. You can find more info about this here.

They need to fix this immediately. Not being able to change usernames is idiotic.
