Discount redeemed without the subscription

So I was trying to get the student discount that I'm eligible for.

But the sheerid verification tells me that I have already redeemed the discount for my student identity.

However, I never did get the premium with that discount.

I think I know where this complication comes from.

A few days ago I tried to get the premium with my identity too.

But that time, I went to the spotify portal using an ad I saw on instagram.

So it was a separate browser and I haven't been logged onto spotify, but the link just brought me straight to the student verification page.

I went through all the process of submitting my student information and the sheerid system told me that I have been verified, but the spotify site didn't bring me to any next step, so I was just left hanging there, without being able to actually buy a subscription with the student discount that I was just approved for.

And now I ended up having used up my student discount without any of the actual benefit. 

It would be nice if someone can please help me with this status because it would be extremely upsetting if I'm not able to get what I'm eligible for because of some dull error in the spotify system.

Thanks for reaching out to us, and apologies for the late reply!

It sounds like you might have created a secondary account when you signed up for the student discount, and that your original account is still on Free.

Could you check to see if this is the case by following the steps in this support article?
