How come my age on the profile page is different than facebook, even though they're synced?

My Question or Issue

I am trying to swith the to the student plan before I head off to school, but my information didn't sync correctly and my Facebook age (which is correct), does not show up in my Spotify profile and I think this is why I'm "inelligible." I have tried resetting my information on Facebook and logging out of Spotify and then logging back in with my Facebook information, but even then it still doesn't sync up. I've looked around other forums, but haven't found a way to change my age from the Spotify application directly. I've tried disconnecting the two even while I'm logged in to both, but that has not helped either.

Hey @RT36.

If your account is set up via Facebook, it might not have the correct date of birth depending on the permissions you give Spotify when setting it up via Facebook.

In this case, I suggest heading to your Facebook profile Settings > Apps > Spotify, and remove it. Once it's removed, just log back in to Spotify using the app and it should ask you to give Spotify access to Facebook again. Don't worry, this won't delete your music or playlists.

If this doesn't update the date of birth on your Spotify acccount, try changing the date of birth back and forth from Facebook to see if it's updated then.

About the student discount eligibility, the information on Spotify shouldn't interfere with it, as long as you enter the details as registered on your university or college, they should be validated and linked to the Spotify account you signed up from.

In case you're getting an error message when validating the discount, try again using an incognito window or a different browser altogether.
