No PayPal option for Student Discount

I've been using PayPal for my three month 0.99 cent subscription, and now that I want to use the student discount, they have no PayPal option and only take credit card. When I click the family plan, they do take PayPal though. I don't get this, is spotify trying to drive students away from actually getting the discount? They literally have no way to justify this, and I'm wondering if I could expect it to be available anytime soon.

Unfortunately, you can only subscribe to the Student Discount using the available payment methods. If the payment method you’d like to use isn’t being offered to you on the payment page, then it’s most likely not available at the moment.
