Profile can't be found with username!!

My Question or Issue

So I signed up for Spotify Premium using the student discount of my current university. Everything works fine when I use Spotify, but when my friends asked me what my username was to find me, they couldn't find me using it?! If I go to my account I see a weird username "kmhugpdlmy1fgwdj05ngls3si" I just got asigned although I see my real username "maettuu" if I'm on my profile. Also I can't log in using "maettuu" but only my email address. What exactly is the issue here? My friend stuyding at the same school doesn't have such a werid asigned username and one can find his profile with the search provided on Spotify... Also I'm not findable by that weird letter/number combination. How can I solve this?

Found the problem myself: had to verify my email address - apparently forgot to do that -.-

The easiest way for someone to find your profile is by sharing your profile URI with them. You can do this by going to your profile page in the app on any platform, clicking on the three-dot menu and selecting Share. You can then share the link with anyone via PM.
