Renewed Student premium double charged

ok this might be stupid but I just paid for my student premium for the month like a week ago and today I realized I needed to renew my student status. Well when I went to go do that it tried to charge me again and while yes it’s just six dollars it’s a little annoying. Is there anyway I can avoid this or do I just need to suck it up?

If you do not renew at the end of the year, you will be charged at the regular Premium Individual rate. Premium Student is valid for 12 months up to 4 times (4 years). There is more information on renewing your student discount here.

Since you've already been charged for the Premium Individual rate, you can still renew your student discount and you will be notified of your new billing date and price before you confirm those changes.

Hi! I had the same issue but once I go through the steps to renew my student discount it tries to charge me again after Spotify already charged me for the premium individual. My question is will they charge me a total of $16 for this month of will they refund me the $10.99 for the premium individual and only charge me the $5.99 for the premium student?

Thanks for reaching out! You will be notified of when you will be charged for Premium Student before you make any changes. Any charges would be prorated to reflect the price differences.

Another option is that you can cancel your subscription, wait for it to revert to Free, and then renew your student discount.
