I've been trying to renew the student premium on my laptop but every time I try to change the subscription from individual to student it says that there is an error. It doesn't give me chance to verify me being a student it just says that there is an error every time I select Student premium.
Can someone help me figure out what's going on?

In order to get a better understanding of the situation, could you let us know if you already redeemed/renewed the Student discount on your Spotify profile and you're unable to switch the subscription to Premium Student?
Just to be on the safe side and that you're following the correct steps, I also recommend taking a look at this help article for more info on how to renew the discount and then change your subscription.
If you're still seeing any error messages, let us know and it'd also be helpful if you could send us a screenshot or two so we can take a look. You can attach them via the Insert Image option in the post editor, only make sure no sensitive info is visible.

I've the same problem and I've followed all of the instruction from the payment article, but I still got the error. I've tried another payment method too but still got that error.

Do you have another device like another phone or PC which you can use to try and subscribe again? Should the issue persist, I'd recommend getting in touch with your payment provider to check if everything looks good on their end as there might be some restriction that's blocking the transaction.

I'm unable to subscribe for the Student Premium plan as there is no tab to insert card details.

We'd suggest giving it a try using an incognito window or a different device. If you're trying to get a free trial, make sure you haven't been on Premium before.

I can see on the screenshot that you're trying to get a free trial for the Premium Student plan and it's possible that you're not seeing the option to add your payment details if you've already used a trial or had a Premium subscription as @Novy mentioned. In this case, I'd suggest trying to change your plan directly from your account page here. As already suggested, you can try using a different device, preferably a PC if you're still unable to switch plans on your mobile device.
