Transfer student discount to new account without 12 month penalty

I want to change my username, and to do so I need to switch over to a new account. I want to keep the student discount that I have on my current account but I don't want to wait for 12 months to be able to use it again on the new account. Is there a way around this?

Unfortunately, that verification will stay tied to your current account - as noted on the student support FAQ located in full here.

Note: You are allowed only one account with student status at a time, and that status lasts for 12 months even if you cancel the subscription or close the account.
