Want to change to student discount, can I get a refund?

I have been on a student discount subscription for a year now and didn't recieve a notification that I would be charged the full price. Since I am still a student I have now changed my subscription back to having the discount. However, I am still being charged full price until 31/10/17, could I get a refund for this month? I would have added another student discount but I did not know it had expired, because I didn't recieve any notification.
