gift card not applied

My Question or Issue

I had Regular Spotify Premium and applied a $30 gift card to my account on August 13th after I had already been billed for the month of August. Just recently I switched my account to a Student Premium account and it is saying that my next bill will be in November. How come the gift card isn’t being applied for more months? I thought I wouldn’t have to pay from my credit card until January or February.

Unfortunately, you can’t apply a gift card on discounted plans like Premium Student, Premium Family, Premium Duo, or trial offers.
