Anyone else find it unfair that only the managers of the spotify premium duo subscription gets the access to 15 hours of free audiobook listening? My partner and I got a duo account to save some money, and I pay my half. Yet, because the duo account under his name he's the only one with access to the included 15 hours of audiobook listening. We're both big on our podcasts and audiobooks, and I was so sad when I realised the books were only available to him. It's not a very equal duo, is it. 😞
Yes, we are in exactly same situation. 🙁
I am in that same situation, except I am willing to give up my plan manager status so my wife can listen to the audiobooks. Is there an easy way to switch which account is plan manager?
Has anyone found a way to see how many hours you have left?
I don't know if anyone at Spotify reads these things, but it's total BS that both halves of a Duo account can't access audiobooks. It's like they want me to dump them... again. ( And when is lossless quality music coming? )
I cancelled my audible subscription once I saw that audiobooks became available with premium membership to Spotify but I found out today that it has a listening limit which, after only a week, I've already exhausted. Come to find a top off of 10 hours costs only a few dollars less then that unlimited subscription of audible it appears that I will be returning to audible as it is clearly more cost effective !
Yes. If you log in to your account through a browser and not the app, go to View Account, and under the Subscription heading there is label for Audiobook Listening Time.
There's not. I tried contacting support about this. Seems like something that really should be fixed.
Make an unlimited option to listening to audiobooks. I would upgrade if you did that and if it was a good price. 15 hours is not enough and then 10+ upgrade is too steep. Spotify would own the market if you solved this.
I agree, it’s not a cheap subscription compared to others and it does state that each person gets full premium account in which case each persons should get the same benefits. It’s my teenage son who should be getting the 15 hrs of listening pm which would be great as he’s stopped reading! I too am looking to cancel my audible subscription but the benefits of audible are unlimited listening and you get to keep your books I guess the same goes for music. Come on Spotify!
I agree 15 hours is not enough. Most books are over 12 hours. I did not know there was a limit. I am on my second book and hsve 7 hours left. I am not paying £10 when I already pay for premium. A money making thing. Also not aware there was a charge or notified before I started the second book of hours I had left. Use Borrow Box free library streaming service. Can be a wait but like any library but works well
Especially for those who have duo plans etc
I am premium family member. Recently had surgery that requires that I walk 5 miles a day. The audiobook has been awesome way to pass the time when walking. Unfortunately I ran out of time?!?!? How can that happen with a premium subscription? You have me hooked and now you’re going to send me to another provider to finish the book I started with you? It doesn’t make sense.
Has anybody figured out if the 15 hours is counted from the standard run time or if it’s the play time? If I were to listen at 2x speed, would I be able to get 30 hours of books in?
Agreed. This is no bueno.
I’m trying to figure this out as well.
