Guys, After 7 years of my Premium subscription here, I don't have a problem with the price increase, however, I'm becoming extremely annoyed with the amount of fake music by non-existent artists. Especially with relaxing music, where you replace traditional performers with machine algorithm-produced music. It's noticeable and not enjoyable at all. Playlists are full of this ballast and I'm honestly starting to look elsewhere...
Am I alone with these feelings?
Thx
Nope, you not alone. This friday I got half a Release Radar filled with autogenerated repetitive short tracks of fake artists.
I'll take this chance @Spotify to report them here:
- Dalila Lyne
- William Phill
- Ladislao Wallace
- Francois Beck
- Felix MacConnell
- William Mitchel
- Gรถstav May
- Nino Pavia
- Tibor Wild
- Vera Simonds
- Rita Covington
- Athnase Nicols
- Haven Medina
Please moderate (remove) this fake content from Spotify and make Spotify a proper place for artists (ARTISTS) again.
Iโve been seeing them as well all over the place when Iโm busy searching for the metal bands that are listed in the metal archives website. It is indeed annoying as all get out because usually these โartistsโ either havenโt uploaded their music onto Spotify yet, even though I donโt know why, or that they arenโt artists at all and are just pretending they are which is very extremely annoying when it comes to searching for specific bands.
Ok, nice to see that I'm not alone but what can we do now ๐ ? Just complaining in the chat, or? But it looks like this is becoming a publicly known problem already, see e.g.https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/31/arts/music/popcast-fn-meka-fake-spotify-artists.html or https://kotaku.com/spotify-music-streaming-fake-artist-ai-apple-music-1850363407 . So what now โ๏ธ?
Another week, another regurgitation of fake, generated short tracks pushed to loath. Please Spotify, don't let these bots generate fake artists and push generated music onto Spotify and into peoples Release Radar. Here is my report, since we lack to ability to report this questionable content (on the suspicion that it is generated music, automatically distributed):

This all comes from the same bot. It's so easy to see the pattern:
- Short tracks (1:46 to 2:01)
- Low quality cover with name/text stamped on it
- Horrible quality 'music', very likely generated, same beats used often
- Two tracks per release
- All track suffixed with (ironically) "Original Mix"
Hey guys from #Spotify, would you respond, anyone? Or do you not care? Or it would be better to start some bigger PR on this topic e.g. via social media? I can imagine your answer that this is our choice and we can always move to something else. But could you really lose a customer like this? An avalanche starts always with one pebble and you look very well-saturated in your position yet...
I'm getting the same issue; it's very annoying. Most of my Release Radar is fake tracks, all < 2 minutes long, with randomly-generated artist names, track names, release names, album covers, and (by the sounds of it) audio as well.
It seems some people are trying to game the system, and making the experience worse for everyone!
It seems that a lot of people are having the same trouble as I have with fake music on Spotify. In fact this is abuse of the Spotify (payment) system:
Bots generate music > Other bots listen to that music > Someone is getting paid.
Because Spotify doesn't acknowledge having bugs, I have reported this "Idea" to make it possible to report this abuse. If you agree that this issue should be resolved, please upvote this idea:

Seems better now - last 2 weeks have been OK.
I have no doubt that this problem will return in some form or another in future though (probably harder to detect) ๐
Almost a year later and there a still new random short AI-generated songs pushed on spotify under other artists' names. I've seen a recent input of 30-45seconds songs
Yes! I'm also still getting a lot of random short AI-generated songs!. Much more common in Discovery Weekly than Release Radar.
I am not sure if this counts as a fake song, an error or a glitch but I found under a valid title, a totally unrelated song and I can't understand how is this happening:
Real song:
The Cataracs - Top Of The World ft. DEV
wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_of_the_World_(The_Cataracs_song)
youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33lLpK2KPCQ&list=PLFJf7agnNly4HM4b3x1ml1TRFcFYMhTXm&index=219
On Spotify, under this title and apparently filed among one of the ("real") artist's songs, there's a totally different song, not even by The Cataracs/Dev:
https://open.spotify.com/album/2f7L4xcHyfAmEubuyiXqf7
Also even if the title and artists (and year and artwork!) seem to match the original's, the credits are totally different - how is this even possible???

Iโm having the same issue now for 2 consecutive weeks, half of my release radar is artist that I follow but itโs not their tracks, itโs fake music, can you please look into it because itโs getting really annoying and if it keeps happening, Iโll stop my subscription.
Thanks, but we need to connect with more like-minded people! I really dislike the fake music on Spotify; it's so annoying and terrible. Maybe we should share this on social media to raise awareness. Otherwise, people from Spotify won't care.
