Is it legal to use a third party spotify downloader for personal use?

Hi, I'm wondering if it would be legal to download Spotify music using a third party downloader like spotifydown. It's for personal use and I have a free plan. The reason I want to download music is to listen the music from my old IPhone 5c that can't support the Spotify app or website. If I download music from Spotify using a third party downloader, do I face any legal consequences?

Hey @PhatGus

Using downloader tools like the one you mentioned is against Spotify's terms of use and thus it's considered piracy. So I would advise against using sites like that.

Perhaps it's possible for you to get a cheap / second-hand phone that's new enough to support the Spotify app. Since you're using Free plan, the phone doesn't even need that much space.

Hope this offers some clarity 🙂
have a lovely day!

Where in terms of use is this stated?

Thanks!
