Signup for free months through apple/google, etc not optimal

My Question or Issue

If spotify have no interest in increasing their user base by allowing free months applications through the only means of subscripton, apple, play store, etc. and insisting on payment methods some will not agree with, I consider thiis a monumental success.

On the other hand, if wasting my time thinking that logging in and trying to save a few bucks without losing 30 minutes of my time, not including this post, I would consider that a fail and a permanently lost potential customer.

Spotify says as much during the application process, that being not optimal. I only wish this would have been stated earlier. Good luck guys, you'll need it.
