About the latest changes to current Web APIs (Deprecations)

Hi, I wanted to know if the deprecation of APIs such as recommendations and track audio features temporary? If not, is there going to be replacement with similar functionalities? As many developers, I've also spent a lot of time building an application using these services. And I need to make sure if I should start looking for other options before giving up.

Thanks for your answers in advance,
Oğuzhan

Can anyone responsible please give input on this

Considering how Spotify has been completely radio silent even after ruining hundreds of developers' projects, I think it's safe to assume that they are going to keep us in the dark. Why would they bother to tell us anything when they couldn't give us a notice that they were going to shut down their important API endpoints?

Someone from the Web API Changes thread contacted support, and they said "in the next few days, a replacement is coming, and there's an exciting innovation that customers like you will enjoy." No one knows if that's true, or if that's just corporate speak.

Short answer is no, no one knows. Remember, Spotify is a multi-billion giant in the music industry. We developers are the most insignificant minority in their sea of paying customers. They don't care if developers end up cancelling their subscriptions or stop developing apps, because we will never be able to apply financial pressure to a megacorporation like them.

I'm sorry to hear about your application. Do consider exploring other APIs if waiting is not an option. I wouldn't build my future applications on an API that will be rug-pulled the moment Spotify's stakeholders feel threatened.
