why is the 

GET /recommendations/available-genre-seeds endpoint deprecated?

and is there any alternative to get a list of all available genres on Spotify?

Those endpoints could be used in conjunction with the (also deprecated) Get Recommendations endpoint.

For a list of (artist) genres, you can have a list at this page.

I have another question. Any idea how to get list of songs in a genre? as many as possible and also if possible ordered by popularity?

Also why cant a get the genre for a song in its track info provided by the api?

Also is this method of formating the query correct for wanting it to choose tracks from across more than one genre: "genre:pop OR genre:rock"

Thanks for your question!

I mentioned (artist) genres because, when using the API, genres are associated with artists rather than individual songs.

I couldn’t get the OR parameter to work either, so it seems the search functionality may have changed.

To get the popularity of tracks, you can use the Get Several Tracks endpoint.

Are you sure cause from what I'm seeing, that endpoint doesn't return acoustic features (like loudness,danceability)

Apologies, I thought you were only asking about the genres.

According to Introducing some changes to our Web API:
"Applications with existing extended mode Web API access that were relying on these endpoints remain unaffected by this change."
