Can't switch from Premium Individual to Premium Duo [macOS, iOS]

Can't switch from Premium Individual to Premium Duo [macOS, iOS]

Plan

Free/Premium: Premium Individual

Country: Germany

Device: iPhone 14 Pro, Macbook Pro late 2021

Hi,

subscribed to Premium Individual several months ago when I still had an Android phone. Now I have an iPhone 14 Pro and Macbook. I'm trying to switch to Premium Duo but this is not possible. In the app I get a message telling me, that I can't make changes to my subscription using the app:

When I then login to the website it says, that I should use the app:

So, what's the problem here?

Best

Andreas

Hey @zenobios2k ,

Thanks for reaching out.

That's because your subscription is through Google Play, so Spotify assumes you're using an Android phone (which you have in the past), where it seems to be possible to make changes to the subscription through the Spotify app.

If you'd like to make any changes to your subscription, you can either do that through Google Play or you can cancel and re-subscribe directly through the website.

Hope this clears things up!

Hi Maxim,

I was expecting something like this.

I can't make any changes in the Google Play UI expect for canceling and re-activating it. But it seems like that even if I cancel it I have to wait until it's really cancelled to make changes to my subscription using my new hardware.

To be honest: This is annoying and unacceptable from a customer perspective.

Cheers

Andreas
