I am being charged, but I do not have a premium account

Hello,

I am being charged, but I do not have a premium account.  When I log into my account, it tells me I have the free service.

It looks like you have more than one Spotify account.

 

Please follow this guide to finding any other accounts you might have subscribed to Premium and let me know if this helps.

I'll add my name to that. I was charged for the student account today after being told that my student status couldn't be verified. I double checked my account to make sure the account change hadn't gone through despite being told I wasn't elligable. Turns out, it hadn't. I'm pretty sure taking someone's money without giving them the product or service you promised is theft. Using their private billing information without their consent also sounds like fraud. Computer glitch or whatever you want to call it, this is a massive breach of trust.

I cancelled this payment through my bank and filed a claim with them. There's your warning. Fix it.

If Spotify are unable to verify your student I.D, you won’t be eligible to claim the student discount. In this instance, any charges will show on your statement as ‘pending’. This means your bank has put a temporary authorization on the funds, but no money has actually been taken.

Once the bank receives the confirmation that your student I.D failed to verify successfully, the money will reappear on your statement. This can take up to 48 hours, depending on your bank. You can reach out to them for more information about any pending payments.
