I bought a gift-card, but it isn't working?

Hello. I'm on here today because of an issue I have run into with a gift-card I purchased this afternoon. I got on my phone this morning to see the last three-month gift card I had purchased had run out, so I rushed to Walmart and bought another! Simple. I tried to activate it the moment I got into the car and- bam. Something went wrong message. My code has a (zero) 0 so I tried an o. I tried waiting for a few minutes, nothing. Same message, no premium. I took it back into Walmart and talked to someone in customer service and they instantly said that I needed to contact Spotify because they had activated it. I tried again with any of the codes on my receipt and still, nothing was working! What do I need to do? 

 

This didn't happen with the previous card and it is kind of turning me off of Spotify.

Could you please let me know if you're getting any sort of message or error number while trying ?

I would also like to ask for any further info you can give me like country, devices in use, device you tried to redeem the gift card and current subscription type.

To answer the message, I would always get something went wrong. 

 

I'm in the US, bought it in the US. I use my phone, TV, and Computer as a Spotify player, oh, as well as my Alexa. I tried to redeem the card originally on my phone, then on my PC at home. I'm currently on the free subscription because the whole (gift-card isn't working thing) I've sent a message to Spotify and they emailed me back, so I ultimately believe that is the solution for me.

I would love to hear if this gets fixed, and what they did to fix it.

 

I bought a gift card several months ago, and it was not working. Same error message: "Something went wrong."

 

The customer service was terrible. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I have ever had.
