Is it possible to change billing date or end my premium features early

Is it possible to change billing date or end my premium features early

I'd like to change my billing date to match when all my other bills go out for consistency and budget planning reasons. I've just cancelled premium and my account will change to Spotify Free on 19/05/2023. However, I want to resubscribe on the 16/05, which is earlier than my plan expires. Can a Spotify administrator change my billing date, or otherwise end my Premium features early on the 15th so I can resubscribe on the 16th, or will I have to wait almost an entire month without Premium before I can subscribe again on the day I want to?

Hey there,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Unfortunately, the only way to change your billing date is the following:

  1. Cancel your plan.
  2. Wait for your plan to switch to free (at your next billing date).
  3. Resubscribe on the day you’d like to be charged.

Note: Your account needs to stay free until the day you want the new billing to start. If you resubscribe before then, it will stay the same.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

If my billing date is today, can I cancel today, spend three days without premium and then resubscribe on Monday or do I need to wait until the end of next month because it's too late?

Hey @Jophiel ,

As soon as you're back on the free plan, you can subscribe to Premium on the day you'd like to get charged on every month 🙂

Not an actual soliution, but an alternative if you're unwilling to wait a few days:

So for people in my situation as described in my OP, I have a workaround for when the desired day is just too long a wait without premium: Make a new temporary or replacement account, subscribe for 1 month on correct day and just import your saved music. Then you can cancel and return to your original account on the correct day again next month, or just keep using the replacement account if you prefer and abandon the old one.

It's not ideal, but until there is a feature to change billing date, it seems the only solution is wait for however many days after your plan expires for the desired day to cycle back around. Or make a new account.

Los días 3 de cada mes para no tener el mismo problema gracias
