My account won’t accept my debit card and all the information is right

My account won’t accept my debit card and all the information is right

I have tried to put in my debit card info multiple times and it won’t accept it even though all the information is right and I’ve called my bank and they can’t do anything. I’m getting annoyed and want it fixed. What can I do? I’m pretty sure it’s Spotify’s fault bc I know I have money on my account and stuff so it should accept my card but it’s not and I’m getting frustrated

what if you don't have any other payment method other than your one debit card?

I had this same problem. For some reason, my spotify account went into the free mode and I couldn’t update or pay again for one month (at least that’s what other people found when they had this problem. They can’t pay or update payments for 1 month using their cards). No matter what I tried: incognito tabs, calling my bank (they couldn’t do anything), and everything else Spotify had recommended trying to do, nothing worked. 


I eventually did figure out a way to fix it. My work around was to buy an online gift card from Amazon or target for one month and redeem that. That way I’m paying target and not Spotify. For some reason, the gift cards work but my card won’t work with Spotify. I did get premium again using the gift card. 

I’m hoping that after this month, I’ll be able to use my card again and start using my student discount that I apply for. I find this so frustrating and stupid. It’s almost like Spotify just says “screw your money enjoy the free plan for one month.” I don’t understand why it happens but it seems like it happens to a lot of people.
