Payment failed email

Payment failed email

I received an email from no-reply@spotify.com stating that the payment has failed and i need to update it when i clicked it directed me to spotify website and asked me to login so i did and updated it and that was last payment. Today i heard about security breaches on several websites so I started worrying. Are those emails legitimate?? Because i read on spotify security terms that they never send emails asking for payment details

Hello @JJoe96

I don't know about those emails, but I think it was legit because it's the actual email address from Spotify. I can verify that it's the actual email address because I got an email long time ago for my premium family, so I think it's legit and you said that it directed you to the Spotify Website so I don't think you need to worry.

Hope I could help you. Have a nice day 🙂

Hey @JJoe96, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I’d be happy to shed some light on this for you.

The email you’re referring to is legit and came from Spotify. Spotify doesn’t ask for payment details but the email you received includes a link to click to update your payment details. Generally this will happen if your card is about to expire, or if your card has insufficient funds or has become invalid.

For future reference, you can check out this support article for a guide on how to verify if an email came from Spotify or not.

Hope you’ll find this useful. Don’t hesitate to reach back out if you need anything else!
