My Question or Issue

So I currently live in a shared house. My Amazon echo is set up and connected to my Spotify account. The echo can be accessed by anyone, and by extension Spotify can be accessed by anyone. This isn't a problem while I am there, but if I go home or go out in the car, I will often get my listening interrupted because someone will play a song on the Echo. This also happens the opposite way round as well. Is there anyway to stop this happening? I am the only one in the house who has a Spotify account.

I also have an echo dot at home and the same situation can happen if mum or dad plays a song through that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @_weird_, welcome to the community!

As your Spotify account is linked to the Amazon app, anyone that uses the speakers will automatically use your account.

To solve this, you can unlink your Spotify from the Amazon app and use Spotify on the speakers via Bluetooth if possible.

You could also use Spotify in Offline mode when you're away from home to avoid it being interrupted when someone listens to music at home.

All the best.
