We have 2 premium Duo accounts.
1 for me and my wife, and 1 for my kids.
I like to combine this into a premium family.
But how does this work?
Do we have to cancel all duo's?
And will my kids lose their music if we do this?
It's not really clear to me.

Hi @Peterlili,
Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome! I moved your post from Chat to a relevant Help board, where it fits better.
No worries, changing subscription plans wonโt cause anyone to lose their playlists or saved music.
To combine two Premium Duo plans into one Premium Family plan, the plan manager for one of the two Premium Duo plans (e.g. you or your wife) can start by changing that plan to Premium Family, by following these steps:
Next, the plan manager for the other Premium Duo plan (e.g. one of your kids) can cancel the plan, by following these steps:
At the next payment date for the upgraded, first plan (which the plan manager can view on their account page, under โYour Planโ -> โPaymentโ), the plan managerโs billing and account will switch to Premium Family, and the account of the other member will switch to the free plan.
At the next payment date for the canceled, second Premium Duo plan (which its respective plan manager can also view on their account page), the accounts of both members will switch to the free plan.
The plan manager for the new Premium Family plan can then invite all the other members by following the steps in this support article. Bear in mind that to accept the invites to Premium Family, the other members must live at the same address as the plan manager.
Note as well that members can only switch between different Premium Family and Premium Duo plans once a year.
You can also read more about how Premium Family works in this FAQ article as well as in this support article.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!
Hi @Peterlili,
Thank you for your reply!
No worries, your kids wonโt lose their playlists upon canceling their current Premium Duo plan.
Spotify users keep all of their playlists, saved music, and settings no matter which subscription plan they switch to or from (including the free plan).

Hi there,
Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!
Can you check the subscription type that you have on your account page (under Your plan)? Also, can you take a look at your receipts (which you can view here), to check when and for which subscription youโve paid for?
If you accidentally paid for Premium Duo instead of Premium Family, you can switch to Premium Family here at any time. If the payment was made recently, you wonโt be charged right away (however, the billing date will be brought forward due to the price difference between the two plans).
If youโre sure that you paid for Premium Family and itโs not showing on your account, itโs possible that you might have more than one Spotify account; so in this case, Iโd recommend following these steps to check if you have another Spotify account with the Premium Family subscription.
Let me know how this goes, as well as if you have any other questions.
Have a good day!
