Premium frozen when paid by gift card

Premium frozen when paid by gift card

I decided to pay for Spotify premium with a gift card after my credit card had expired but after ten days my account was frozen because I have to "update payment methods". I still have the email receipt to prove that I should be covered for the month. I've also had many problems with this service including having to redownload my library multiple times because for no apparent reason the app decides to search internal storage instead of my external SD card. Then because it's set to internal storage if I try to set it back to external it "transfers my library" and deletes all my files on the external SD card even though I can clearly see the files are still stored on the external SD card. Honestly with the non-existent customer service and the problems I've been having I'm strongly considering abandoning Spotify and using another music provider. Fixing my main issue of not being able to use a service I PAID FOR would be a start and if it's not done promptly I expect some sort of compensation like a free month of premium or something similar.

I am sorry to hear that you are encountering problems.

First of all please make sure you are trying to use spotify premium on the account you redeemed your gift card. You may have multiple accounts, so you can read this blog post and make sure you are accesing the right account. If you are please contact the customer support service!

As for the customer service, that is available here, so you can access it any time you feel the need to do so! 🙂

As for the promblems with your dowloaded library please review your settings, because that may be the problem of your solution.

Also keep in mind that errors may occur any time, so we all must be understanding! 🙂

I know it's common pratice to assume people are idiots when it comes to solving these kinds of problems. Like when someone calls customer service complaining their computer doesn't work the first question asked is "Are you sure your computer is plugged in?" So I take no offense but yes I'm 100% sure I'm using the right account. It was working for ten days before it decided to lock me out. And no Spotify doesn't have customer service! Customer service is when you can directly contact someone who works for the company in question and they resolve your issues. I don't mean to be mean but you can't solve anything, I'm not an **bleep** and I know that the problem is with Spotify and not on my end and scrolling through threads of other peoples problems on the community page isn't going to solve anything. You can't access my account and change it to unfreeze my premium subscription and that's what I need done. I don't think this problem will be resolved because Spotify doesn't care enough about it's customers to spend the money to hire actual customer service agents, if they did my problem could be solved in an hour at most including time I'd be on hold waiting to talk to an agent. Honestly if this issue can't be solved IMMEDIATELY or at least give me a way I contact someone who works for Spotify today I will never pay for premium or even use the free service again and I'll recommend to everyone I know to do the same.

The spotify customer service is available once again here (Go to Subscriptions> Paid for Premium but I am still on Free> I need more help). This way you will be connected to an agent, that is able to acces your account and help you.

Sorry I didn't realize the original link you sent me could get me into contact with an agent. I assumed you were sending me on a loop that would end up sending me back to this community page. I'll see if my problem can be solved but I still feel this whole process can be made much simpler. Thank you for your help!
