Spotify Duo - possible to merge accounts?

My partner and I both have Spotify Premium already, but would like to go for Spotify Duo instead to save a bit of money. Are we able to merge our 2 Premium accounts into a Duo account, or will one of us lose all of our data and have to take a new account to take advantage?

Hey there @isibuko,

Welcome to the Community! We'll gladly help you out with this one.

After upgrading to Premium Duo your account becomes the manager of the plan and you can invite your partner to join. After accepting the invitation their individual Premium subscription is automatically canceled. You can find out more about how Duo works here. 

Note that your music collection remains intact with all changes in subscription, even when reverting to Free. So no worries, no data will get lost 🙂

Thanks for the question.

If both of you have your own separate accounts, your partner won't lose her saved music when she joins the plan. She gets to keep her account just as it is, it's only her subscription type that changes.

If you were using only one account, she'll need to create a new one in order to join the Duo plan. She can do that here and then she can copy the playlists she'd like to have with the steps here.
