Unable to get Premium via mobile pay Smart

Solved!

Unable to get Premium via mobile pay Smart

Plan

Free/Premium

Country

Philippines

Device

Samsung Galaxy A70

My Question or Issue

I have been trying to get Spotify Premium for my mobile device but it keeps on saying that something is wrong. I can only pay via mobile and my service provider is Smart. I made sure that I have enough balance on my card and that I am inputting the correct number. I tried to reach out to their support team and they told me to go to Fortumo, but fortumo did not give me any helpful solutions. How can I fix this? Are we unable to pay via mobile during the pandemic?

Hello! Thank you for the reply 😄 I have already found a separate solution from browsing through some old posts within this community 🙂

In case anyone is interested, here is the solution that helped me:

For SMART Philippines subscribers:

1. It’s not possible to use one phone number on multiple accounts to pay for Spotify Premium. You can only have 1 active subscription.

2. It’s not possible to resubscribe to Spotify using your phone number if you have already subscribed in past and it has been less than one year since you’ve granted Spotify consent to charge against your phone bill. In order to revoke previously given consent text GETPIN to 8823 to retrieve the list of existing PIN consents and respond with STOPPIN<space><list_number> to 8823 within 5 minutes to revoke the consent. Then you will be able to subscribe again.

Here is an example:

1) Your first text message: GETPIN to 8823

Reply message you will receive:

You have allowed services for the following: [1]

MOBILENO: 631234567896

SCOPE: charge against airtime

NAME: Spotify

EXPIRY: 2017-09-23 17:44:54.641000

* The list number you need is on the first row in bold.

2) Your second text message: STOPPIN 1to 8823

After this your previous consent is revoked and you should be able to make a payment again.

Hey there @Purtato!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out about this.

You can start off by checking if you have enough credit on your mobile account.

If all is well on that front, we'd recommend to wait a few days and try again, or try in a private/incognito window (there might’ve been a temporary connection problem).

We understand that you've reached out to Fortumo but since they manage mobile payments it's best to check out their support center if the issue persists.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

I cannot use my smart account as my way of paying spotify. It keeps on saying payment failed. I used this smart account for 2 years already and it automatically go back to free spotify every year and when I tried to renew my account this year, I accidentally purchased the individual that supposed to be duo. Now, I cancelled the individual account hoping I could get the duo but the payment failed only appears.

I already tried logging in on incognito, as well as clearing the cache.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
