Unable to print reciepts due to background change

Since Spotify changed the receipts page background to black with white text, receipts now appear as invisible/blank when trying to create PDFs. 🤦

To whoever made this change, please revert it back or give us a 'save receipt' button as there's no other way to generate receipts for accounting. Thank you!

I personally can't reproduce this issue using two different devices and browsers, so I recommend that you give it a try on another device and using another browser. 🙂

I think what @5potifyuser2023 was trying to say was, there are users like us that need to make PDFs or printed copies of the receipts for accounting and tax purposes. Because of the complete black background (with white writing) the printed copies waste a bunch of ink, or the PDFs are unreadable. This has nothing to do with what browser is being used.

All we are looking for is the ability to change the black background to white (with black writing), or if that is not possible because of the coding, then please give us the ability to download all receipts as PDFs with a "normal" white background. This is not a big ask. All streaming platforms and online stores that I use give me the option to download the invoice with a clean white background.

I understood what he was trying to say 🙂 I checked it in two browsers (Safari and Google Chrome) on macOS and the background is white while the text is black - so no ink is being wasted.

It might be different depending on the browser/OS, though.

So if my background is dark on both Chrome and Safari how do I change it to light?

I've looked in the preferences of both browsers, and even though I change the preference to light the page doesn't change to light, even after refresh or going back into the site.

It's also dark on my end when visiting the website as usual. To print, I press CMD + P and when the printing preview opens, the background is whitw while the text is black.

There could be some sort of setting within the print window that removes the background, but I'm not sure.

I'm visiting the site on a Windows computer in Dark Mode, using Chrome. Same happens to me;

Dark background with bright text, when looking at the page. When pressing the print button, and the print preview is presented, the background is dark and the text is even darker. This shouldn't be rocket science to fix, just use css; @media print { ... }?

I've tried Firefox, Edge and Chrome. When using the print button on Chrome it prints black text on white paper. On the others it's black. Spotify really should give the option to download a pdf. They have always been bad with receipts, seem to be getting worse!!

Hey everyone,

I just gave it another try on a PC running Windows 11 using the Google Chrome browser. Printing receipts works just fine, but you need to disable the printing of background images in the printer menu pop-up. 

Give it a try yourself if you can 🙂

Weird. 

Hopefully Spotify can just make the backgrounds white in the future to alleviate this issue.

I need to print the receipt for my bill monthly, but currently, the only option available displays the website in black background w/ white text. This uses far more ink than I'd like and there should be an option to enable "light mode" or "dark mode" as there is for almost every other website I interact with. While the interface looks sleek, display options should be provided to allow the user to choose a lighter interface or at least the option to print the bill w/ low ink settings.
