My Question or Issue

 I used to have a Premium account for Spotify. When I had to reinstall the app I was unable to log in. I found out that I have two Spotify accounts, neither seems to be Premium. I remembered my Spotify app displaying the username Anne, which can't be the actual username, so I thought I must have been connected via Facebook, which I checked on my facebook page and I found Spotify in he App section. But I am unable to use the connect via Spotify function. It tells me, my facebook isn't connected to spotify.

I read a lot of posts in this forum trying to find a solution. Just entering my facebook mail and password doesn't work. I checked on facbook that the spotify app is active.

Thanks for any help on this subject!

Hey @user-removed, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

 

Please try to sign out and when you're on the login screen select Login in with Facebook option. Check if you're logged in to Facebook in your browser, clear the cache too 🙂

Also, make sure that you have your student account verified. Every 12 months you'll need to renew your discount! To do so, head to this page.

Hi, thanks for your ideas, but nothing worked so far.

I can't log in on my phone or computer. I've been with Spotify since October 2017, so didn't need to renew my student account yet. I guess I will be sent a reminder then.

Maybe I should make clear that I can log in on two accounts of mine that I found, but they are just regular free accounts and don't have any of the playlists etc. I had.

So I guess there might be another account ( I don't know why I  created more than one in the first place) which is connected via Facebook, but the log in with that option doesnt work.

Sorry that it didn't work!

If you’re unsure which email you used, I’d recommend having a quick scan of the email accounts you own for emails from ‘hello@spotify.com’. That way you can determine which one you used to sign up for Spotify with.

I’d also recommend trying a password reset and sending the link to all emails you have access to. Just check out this Spotify Answer on how to do that 🙂

I already did that with all my mails and I found two accounts. Would it be possible if I told someone my payment information that I find out to which account they are linked to? 

Also on Facebook, I found a User ID, would it be possible to see which account that belongs to?

For this particular case, I would encourage you to reach out to support through the anonymous contact form. So long as you are entirely logged out of Spotify.com (alternatively, you can access the form through an incognito window/private browsing) the form will allow you to use an email of your choosing for correspondence. Please ensure that this is an email that has not been compromised and that you still have access to it!
