Why does my family have to reside with me to be under my family plan. HELP.

As of right now I have the premium spotify account, but I don't like having to wait until my sister is done jamming out! I was heavily considering switching it up and upgrading to the premium for family plan, but in order to have 5 family memebers on the plan they MUST reside with you (the owner). I personally don't think it's fair? I don't live with my sister, and if I did she still wouldn't be able to use the plan because I travel a lot. 

I just want to understand WHY it is required to live under the same roof. Why is it necessary? Not all owners of spotify accounts are going to be living under the same roof as their family. Someone please respond with a real answer, I genuinely do not understand the point. As for now, I'm probably just going to cancel my spotify subscription and stick to apple music.

Spotify for Family is meant as a great way for family members living at the same address to all enjoy Spotify Premium at a great discounted rate.

You can read the Premium for Family Terms and Condition for more info. According to them, is necessary that all members reside in the same address.

However, once you’re in the plan you can travel anywhere and still be able to enjoy Premium.
