Wrong country / Card details

Wrong country / Card details

Hi, I have an issue where I am based in Lithuania and my card is from Revolut GB. Not only Spotify does not allow me to make payment subscriptions but it is willing to charge me a GB rate of 12EUR, not an LT one of 7EUR. Their support is useless - I've tried. Any suggestions anyone?

Hi there @turbonvicius,

Thanks for reaching out to the community !

In order to have a functioning Premium account of any sort, users around the world who chose to upgrade their account are asked to provide a payment method based in the same country where the account was initially created in.

Having said that, if your account was initially created in Lithuania, you'll have to provide a Lithuanian based payment method in order for your payment method to be valid and for the payment to go through in the local currency.

Meaning, you won't be able to pay with a GB based payment method for an account created in Lithuania and same goes for all accounts around the world.

Given the situation you're describing, i can only guess that your app is recognizing your location to be GB as the account was created there and that explains the rate you're seeing as Premium rates are in line with the current market each country.

You have further explanations on the following support pages:

- Payment Troubleshooting

- Manage Payment Details

- Country Settings

I would love to assist further in needed.

Keep me posted 🙂
