My Question or Issue

I have spotify premium but any link I follow about redeeming the Google Home mini leads to an error or a page saying I am not eligible. I also never redeemed one in the past.

Hey folks,

 

We can see a lot of users are still visiting this page, we just wanted to flag that the Google Home Mini offer is now over in the US. 

 

We have a similar deal now available in Canada and the UK where users can grab a Google Nest Mini with Premium.

hi!

i am an active spotify premium member under a family plan, and i have recently tried to claim my google home mini. it says i am not eligible, which is strange because last i checked, my brother who is the one paying for premium pays monthly on his card. i have not claimed a google home before and i have a US spotify account. the only reasons that i could think of why i am not eligible are -

1. i connected my spotify account initially through facebook, which could be "third party" in a way?

2. i am not the one who pays for spotify premium, i am only a member of the family plan.

 

if someone could help me figure out why i am uneligible and how i could become eligible, please let me know! thank you so much!

I wasn't eligible either for some strange reason. Contacted tech support and they told me I already redeemed it even tho I have received zero confirmation about it. I told them there's no way and I would like to know where it's being sent or when it was redeemed but they just kept telling me they don't have that information and that there's nothing they can do. My advice, get in contact with them and if they say you already redeemed it ( even tho you didn't) you'll be SOL because they refused to even look in to my case.

 

I tried to get the google home mini but it says I need wasnt eligible. I thought " no biggie Spotify will be able to help me fix this mix up" welp I was wrong. Not only did It take me forever to find a live person to speak with but once I actually got on a chat with them they just told me that I had already redeemed my Google home, I told them there's" no way I have gotten zero email confirmation and I just found out about this today" they just kept telling me I already ordered it and they can't do anything and when i asked for the address or date it was redeemed they just kept telling me they can't see that in their system. Honestly, not having the speaker isn't a big deal but now I'm kinda angry because both tech supports offered absolutely zero help and basically just kept calling me a liar. I'm getting real sick of the terrible tech support. 

 

 

Says I'm not eligible either! I've been an existing family premium member for quite some time, in the US, and I pay on a monthly basis. I've never redeemed a Google mini before so I truly don't understand why it doesn't allow me to. 

Same here. I'm a premium family member and I've never redeemed a promo code for ANYTHING from Spotify before (in fact I've never received a promo code from Spotify). This is a lousy customer experience for loyal paying customers.

Right?! It's ridiculous that we've been loyal customers for years and one of the few times we reach out for support they basically call us liars and tell us theirs nothing they can do. Might need to switch to google music if this continues 😬

I cannot seem to redeem the offer to get my google mini, it just keeps showing that I am not eligible to get it. I am on a family Spotify premium plan and had no prior redemption of a google home mini and is in the US.

Are you currently on the plan to get Hulu for free through Spotify? I’m getting the same thing when I try to redeem and that’s the only thing different.

I am not, but I believe the one that includes hulu is for students, and if thats the case then you wouldnt be eligible.

I'm having the same issue. 

 

I signed up for one last year but never redeemed it, but looks like that's why they're dinging me this time around. Not fair!

Welcome to the club. Alot of people are having the same problem unfortunately. I contacted Spotify and they told me I already redeemed it and refused to look into the situation for me. I was basically called a liar by the company I have been supporting for the past 3 years. 

 

Nope I'm on a family plan.

I too received the "not eligible" message.  I contacted support and was told it looked like my account had previously been "compromised" when they had the last Google Home Mini promo and someone else claimed.  I told them this wasn't me and was told they would look into it.  

 

The speaker isn't a huge deal to me but now, knowing my account had been compromised, is a really big deal.  From the sounds of things,  Spotify may have had a rather large, previously unreported, data breach.  Now THAT concerns me.  Especially since no notificaiton was ever received...  

So basically Spotify has been breached if a numerous number of people have been having the same problem... Spotify be needs to get**bleep** checked, this is not okay.

Can you guys all give the original post a + ? That way we can get Spotify's attention, in hopes them actually fixing the problem, and not just regurgitating the same line that it looks like they have already been redeemed.

Wanted to update everyone on how I was able to resolve the issue. I had to email google support and ask them to reply with proof that my email account that is also linked with my spotify had never redeemed a google home mini. Even after showing spotify support the email it took quite a bit of emailing and repeating that I had never redeemed one. Basically had to keep emailing until I got to the very top of their customer support. 

When you say Google support? What email address exactly?
