why do I need a creditcard for a student premium account, but I can use Ideal for the normal premium

I am a student and wanted to take use of the offer 50% discount for students, but it says I need a creditcard(which I don't have)...whilest the normal premium you can use  Ideal to pay..

Unfortunately, you can only subscribe to the Student Discount using the available payment methods. If the payment method you’d like to use isn’t being offered to you on the payment page, then it’s most likely not available at the moment.

I am from Belgium and also want to use the premium service for students, but don't have a creditcard either. I use Paypal for my normal Premium subscription but I wonder why it is not possible for me to use Paypal for the Student offer?

Unfortunately I have no information about why it's not available. There can be many possible reasons but I have no confirmed info. 

You can currenly only pay for the student discount using Credit Card.

I really hate that, if you want to get a discount to students, Spotify should make it more available to students. Not more difficult to get it for them. Sneaky Spotify, not transparent.

This doesn't explain anything... you're just repeating what I said and not giving a valid reason... Why is it possible to subscribe with Ideal at full price and not with the student payment plan.
