My Question or Issue

I have over 10000 empty playlist in my account. I have no idea where they come from. According to api I have 10999 playlists. App, webplayer and even the support forum is unusable and filled with bugs...

Btw this is the third time I have to post this and I'm beyond keeping my nerves. Last time I got an 37FF74E2 error code.

Hey @myusernamisscreeny09,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

That's very odd. Check if there are any apps currently linked to your Spotify profile from your account page and disconnect them. If you believe that your account has been compromised, I strongly recommend you secure it by following the steps in this article.

As for the playlists, there isn't a direct way to mass delete the empty ones, I'm afraid. You'll have to delete them manually, but as a workaround you can add the empty playlists to a folder and delete it instead - this will get rid of all playlists inside at once.

Another solution to this would be creating a new account. If you're up for it, you can back up the playlists you want to keep by making them public and saving the URL in a separate text document so you can give them a follow later from your new account.

To back up your Liked Songs, you can add them to a new playlist with the following steps:

  1. Open your Liked Songs on the desktop app and select all tracks with Ctrl + A (Cmd + A on Mac).
  2. Right-click on one of the songs  > Add to playlist > Create playlist.
  3. Repeat the process of making the playlist public and saving the URL - that way you'll be able to follow it from your new account.

If you want to delete the old account later, note that this will also remove the playlists you've just followed. A way to keep them would be by repeating the aforementioned Liked Songs process of copying all tracks into new playlists so that the owner is your new account. After you've successfully transferred all the playlists you wanted to keep, you can safely close the old account.

The folks over at Customer Support might also be able to help out here by restoring Your Library to a previous date, so feel free to give them a shout, if you haven't already.

Hope you get this sorted out. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!
