My Question or Issue

Okay so I have searched and looked far and wide to an answer to this question. It may be my terminology is off so I apologize if this has already been answered. My question is.... What actually happens when you add/favorite an album at the top of an artists album versus all the songs individually of that said album? And what happens if you add/favorite both the album and all the songs on that same album? Does it double the song entries so I would hear it more on my random liked songs or does it have any effect at all?

I don't think you can shuffle liked albums. I recommend just adding all the songs to your library if you like the entire album.

You can find your liked albums under Your Library > Albums on Spotify Desktop.

Hi @datnilladizzle

Liking a song will add it to your Liked Songs playlist. Liking an album will only put it in your liked albums, and will not affect your Liked Songs playlist.

Liking an album itself basically just gives you a shortcut to that album.

Where would the shortcut to the album be located and is there any way to shuffle liked albums? My goal was to build an expansive list of different songs that I can play at random since I listen to so many different genres and underground music.

Also I just noticed that the quick tip when you hover over the heart at the top of the album and the heart beside the songs both say "Add to library" Which makes this even more confusing....

I just  spent some time playing with the info you provided and I understand now. I wish there was an option to shuffle the albums or at least make it easier to add albums you like without having to wear your mouse buttons to mush lol. That is a lot of clicking.

Thanks again!

If it helps, Spotify also has keyboard shortcuts. It uses certain Windows keyboard shortcuts (like Shift + A) and its own.

You can find the list within Spotify by pressing Control + ? on your keyboard.

It will be very cool if there will be the possibility to make favorites into the album and add it into the main list of favorites songs. This to make speedy links from songs to album without press three dots and also to have all on the main list. Bye, Francesco
