My Question or Issue

Up until yesterday, when I go to an artist page and choose to see all releases, they would show in chronological order, which is perfect because I'm trying to make artist specific playlists in that same order, cutting out remixes and live material as I go.

Today I find on all of my devices that going to an artist page and choosing to see all releases now separates them by albums and singles, even though I have very specifically chosen to see all releases because I do not want them to be separated.

I am livid. I hope this is in error and will be corrected and not a permanent change done without any regard for the people using this app. I am one stone's throw away from just going to another service.

Hey folks,

This is now fixed in the desktop app and web player. Artist discography will now show in chronological order again.

After reporting this and having it looked into, it was determined that this is not an expected change and a fix was made.

All day even up until some time yesterday around the early afternoon, on my windows downloaded Spotify app on my computer, the artist discography was in perfect chronological order for each and every artist. It was so helpful... And now it is TOTALLY messed up... they range going from like 2024, 2016, 2011, 2023, 2019, etc etc. And that is incredibly frustrating.. can this be fixed somehow PLEASE?

To me it seems like it now shows all albums first, followed by all singles, instead of just all releases in chronological order. This entirely defeats the purpose of having the option to only show either all albums or all singles.

Hoping this was not intended and will be reverted to how it was before.

This is a really frustrating change, and just makes the user experience worse. The whole point of seeing "ALL" is that you want to see an artists back catalogue in chronological order. Now singles are buried right at the bottom and it's impossible to just listen through in chronological order

It seems what they did was separate the albums and singles/EPs from each other without any clear line like there at least is on mobile. What makes this irritating is that if I wanted to separate them, the option was already there to view only singles or albums but now they're all together and in the wrong order.

You can see in my screenshot the order is completely wrong for these 3 aespa releases if you look at the years (2023, 2022, 2024??). I should not be seeing the "2nd Mini Album" before the 5th when it apparently goes in chronological order (newest to oldest).

I'm having the same problem in the desktop app.

Very disappointing change, please bring it back so we can see all releases by release date again.

What is with Android? It's completely random ordered on my end right now, could this be fixed?

I'm still seeing the wrong dates all over the place, and I can't seem to get them in order. It's crazy how they show old album release dates like 1972 as 2011 and stuff. I read somewhere that it could be a remaster, but there's no indication of that in the album name.Usually, I like to start with a new band and their early releases, but now it's a total mess. There's just no way to see the chronology.

It's a terrible change.I'm going to try Amazon Music now.
