Artists Unfollowed (seemingly) At Random

Occurs when on login to Spotify on my iPhone XR, PC or Mac

My Question or Issue

I have been noticing that artists I follow on Spotify will randomly be unfollowed. I do not see a clear pattern or length of time between following and the unfollow happening. But today, I saw a clear example when I followed three artists in a row (Ayse, Ruby Hughes, Bedouine), and when I went back Pretty quickly after, two we unfollowed (Ruby Hughes and Bedouine).

It seems like this has been an unsolved problem for other since as far back as 2013, and I followed all the Spotify-suggested actions in those threads, to no avail.

No one else has access to my account, which seemed to be a common answer from Spotify. I’ve logged out of other devices and reset my password and it still occurs.

Quick update, I just checked AGAIN and the artist Bedouine was unfollowed.

We can confirm that our teams are aware of this behavior and they're working on it. We're afraid we're not able to provide you with a timeframe for when it will be resolved.
