Can’t add song to playlist, only Liked Songs

Can’t add song to playlist, only Liked Songs

Trying to add a song to a current, shared playlist but the only option I get is adding it to Liked Songs!  I’ve never had this problem before. Also, recently changed from a free plan to a family premium plan. Help!

Hey @Sunshineisme43,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Just to confirm, did you join a family plan or did you create it? It's possible that when you upgrade to premium, you accidentally created the plan with a different account or that you joined the plan with a different account. This can be the reason why you can't add songs to the shared playlists, since it is shared with a different account. We suggest you check the details the account you logged in with these steps from your mobile device:

  1. Go to Home.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. At the top of settings, you can see the email linked to your account (if any).

If you aren’t certain about the details you used to register on the app, go to password reset and enter possible email addresses you own. When you enter an email that's registered with Spotify, you'll get a password reset message for that email. That way you can double-check if you perhaps have more than one account.

Note: Keep in mind there are a few ways to sign up, e.g. with email, phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google. Try logging in with these and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, we understand the playlist was not created by you, but you can were invited to add songs there. We'd suggest checking with the playlist owner if everything is okay with the playlist.

Keep us in the loop!
