Certain playlists not showing up in my library on the desktop

Certain playlists not showing up in my library on the desktop

Desktop is windows operating system, laptop
phone is iphone 7

I was trying to add some playlists to folders to declutter "my library" on the phone, which is apparently something I cant do on the apple mobile version. So I try to do the same thing on the desktop. Except, in both the windows app and in the browser, those playlists didnt appear in my library. These are playlists that I have hearted that other people have made that I just want to put into folders. But according to the desktop app, they aren't in my library. Even though i have hearted/saved some of these from the desktop version. I'm just really confused at this point.

Hi @Prince_Star!

You can try logging out and signing back in on the desktop app twice in a row as it triggers an internal refresh that may help here. If you're on Premium, it's also worth setting the desktop app to Offline Mode by  clicking on the three dots menu in the top left corner > File > Offline Mode and restart the app. After that, turn off Offline Mode and restart the app once again.

In case the issue persists, please share a couple of screenshots both of your PC and your phone so we can get a clear view of how things look on your end.

Keep us posted. Cheers!

Hi Yordan,

Yeah i did that, and they still arent appearing. Considering the issue was present in both the browser version of spotify and the app PC version, that not working didnt surprise me because it's not a problem directly with the app as far as i can tell.

Also, for reference for just how much stuff is missing in the PC "my library", the PC library i could capture in 3 screenshots, and the phone library required 11 screenshots. I also noticed the phone library also has podcasts and artists ive listened to listed in there, which is most likely contributing to that mess. To be clear, i dont want to figure out how to have those appear on the PC spotify, that would be too chaotic even for me. Ive put the PC screenshots into one file and only bothered conjoining two of the phone screenshots to give u an idea of random albums that missing.

Hey @Prince_Star,

Thanks for the screenshots!

I see what you mean and yes, when you open Your Library on the mobile app, you get a list of every single item in there: playlists, albums, followed artists and podcasts are all grouped together. You can set a filter on the top of Your Library so that only one of these categories is displayed, however, restarting the app will reset it back to the default.

As for the desktop app, it still stores the same data, however, instead of displaying it in one huge list, everything is already separated into the aforementioned categories in the Your Library tab. The section on the screenshot you sent displays your playlists only, for ease of access. You can still find your albums, followed artists and podcasts in their respective categories in Your Library.

If you have any suggestions on how Your Library on the mobile app can be improved, do share them on our Idea Exchange board. Others can then add their +VOTEs to show their support and share their feedback.

I should also mention that currently, only playlists can be added into folders. Here are a few ideas about this feature that you may find interesting, so check them out, if you haven't already:

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Take care!
