Command "hey google, play spotify", now plays a specific song and not the last played song

Command "hey google, play spotify", now plays a specific song and not the last played song

Until recently whenever I said "hey google, play spotify", my google nest would just start playing the last song that I listened to. Which was great since I could pick up where I left off in a list. But since recently, it would start playing the song "Spotify" by "Webplayer". Blocking the song and artist however doesn't solve the issue. It will still try to play the song, but fail since it's blocked.

This is super annoying and takes away a major convenience. So I would like to know if this can be resolved, or if there is a different command I can use to have Spotify start like this.

I've already reinstalled Spotify, broken the link with my Google Nest and rebuilt it, as well as blocked the song and artist it keeps playing. Don't know what else I can do...

I have a premium account and live in Belgium.

Hi there @Moorske89,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

You can try using more specific commands such as ''Hey Google, resume what's playing in Spotify''. You could also try naming a playlist, album or artist that you want to listen to so the Assistant can send a more accurate request to the Spotify app.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
