Contributors to collaborative playlist unable to see the songs after adding

Contributors to collaborative playlist unable to see the songs after adding

A friend created a collaborative playlist and sent the link to a few of us. I can see the # of folks in the playlist, and we have all tried adding songs (which it allows us to do). But then when we go back, no songs are listed. It looks like an empty playlist. She initially had the playlist set as private, but she has since changed it to public to see if that would help. No luck. It functions the same. We can add songs, but they do not appear for us.

I also noticed I can't find the option to add songs via PC app. i only have the option in the iOS app. Weird...

Hey @Keri-1,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Is this the case for only one playlist? Would it be possible to try and replicate the issue with a different collaborative playlist? We want to be sure, that this isn't related to a specific playlist.

How exactly are you trying to add songs to the playlist? The collaborative playlist feature got reworked not long ago. Could you confirm you're following the steps from this page?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Thank you so much for your reply, Dian. I couldn't figure out how to mention you. I am such a n00b! haha!

She set the playlist up per the link you provided and gave us the link. When it did not work for us when she had it set private, she made it public and sent us a fresh link. Still same thing...

I've attached 2 pics to show how we are adding the songs.

1. Open the playlist and click "Add songs" (pic 1)

2. Search for the song and select the + symbol

3. Then I get a confirmation message that the song was added (pic 2)

4. Refresh and go back - playlist shows nothing.

Thanks again!!

Hey @Keri-1,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop here.

It's also important to be sure that the owner of the playlist has given you Collaborator or Listener status, that could explain the inability for you to actually add songs and modify the playlist. This status of every follower can be checked when the owner clicks on the small profile icons beneath the playlist's title and a dialog will pop up where the settings can be checked.

Hope this does the trick for you, reach out if you need more help!
