Desktop app doesn’t scroll upwards when moving a song or songs

Desktop app doesn’t scroll upwards when moving a song or songs

When moving a song in a playlist on the Spotify desktop app, the playlist doesn’t scroll upwards when you move it to the top edge of the playlist. The same happens when moving multiple songs. This makes reorganizing playlists difficult and tedious. Scrolling downwards still works when moving songs.

This wasn’t an issue last time I checked, which was just about two days ago, but now it is an issue, so it seems to have been reintroduced in the latest desktop app update. This was reportedly fixed in December of last year, but the bug has returned.

Hi @Aimjock,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

Spotify is currently aware of an Ongoing Issue, which is again causing the drag and drop feature not to scroll the screen once the dragged track reaches the screen’s upper border. Spotify’s tech team is currently investigating this issue.

I recommend adding your +VOTE to the Ongoing Issue, as well as keeping your app up-to-date to ensure that you receive the fix for this issue as soon as it is available.

It will also be useful for you to Subscribe to the Ongoing Issue by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

In the meantime, I suggest using the workaround described in the Ongoing Issue’s Status Update to scroll the screen upwards when you’re reordering your playlists.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

I honestly can't believe the Spotify developers broke this AGAIN.

This feature is essential to using Spotify and making playlists!

Where is Spotify's quality control? Why are these obvious bugs making it to the final release?

This bug absolutely kills Spotify for me. I can no longer make playlists without this feature.

You are getting very close to losing me as a customer.

Is this going to take another month to fix like the last bug?

Hey @Peter-F @Aimjock

Moving songs up and down in a playlist or the Play Queue (with auto scroll) has been greatly improved in desktop app version 1.1.94 and the web player. You should be seeing the new version soon, just make sure your desktop app is up to date.

It works a lot faster now. You just have to get used to the new behavior. The further you drag near the top or bottom, the faster it goes, so you need to ease into it now.
