Disconnect between What's New and New Episodes

I listen to multiple podcast episodes everyday. I add episodes to a preexisting list so that I can listen offline.  Each morning I download new episodes of the 20+ podcasts that I keep up with, usually by visiting the New Episodes section. But I realized I was missing some shows. So I also make sure to check in on the What's New section. Oddly, some episodes appear in What's New that don't appear in New Episodes and vice versa. This is frustrating because I'm still missing out on shows. All my shows are being followed. I don't want notifications for this many podcasts. And I keep up with new music in What's New, as well. Any tips? Is this another glitch to be fixed?
