My Question or Issue
Discover Weekly being terrible and seems not responding my activities for months
Thank you Discover Weekly, for disappointing me every Monday.

Hi @m1ker0soft,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, anything apart from accessing music directly from the Made for You section will inform your recommendations algorithm.
Cheers.
Hey @m1ker0soft,
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
Sorry to hear that you're having such an experience with the Discover Weekly.
What we can recommend is to listen to new content via the Search bar, as listening to music via other recommendation playlists doesn't influence your algorithm. Also make sure that Private session is not switched On.
Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

Hey @m1ker0soft,
Thanks for the question.
Yes, liking songs helps the algorithm to recommend more song similar to the ones you like. The same goes for artists you follow.

This issue also occurred 2 years ago. Spotify are not helping my resolve it. Has anyone else had this issue?
yes it's still an issue, the discover weekly is still not good. I just keep getting popular songs in mine and when I do get less popular songs they are not good.
I have the same problem, for avout a year or two now. It used to be good and on rare occassions it still is. But usually its weird folk music or children's songs. I don't have kids and german folk is far from what i listen to
The discover weekly was good, I liked it (I used to like nearly all musics proposed), until one or two months now.
Definitely, since 1 month now, the discover weekly is bad, I'm disappointed every Monday. For instance, I disliked one song proposed last week, this morning I got the same music proposed (just an alternative version). No, I still don't want this song...
I have exactly the same issue, but Spotify ignores it and keeps on saying it's the way it's supposed to work.
You have to use another service l ike Pandora to find new good music, Discovery Weekly is a joke they will never fix.
After one month since my last reply here (2023-12-18), I keep disliking most of the songs. I listen every week to the weekly suggestions, I didn't miss any
Today, it might be the worst week I could have ! Nearly all of them.
Hi all, I have been experiencing the same problem for the past couple of months. No matter what I listen, I always get the same 'music for sleep' on Discover weekly. It's frustrating as I used to always get solid, energetic recommendations, perfect to play in a background while working. At this point Spotify has lost 50% of the value I used to get.
It sounds like a common issue. Why has it not been taken seriously yet?
Same issue, for me, my discover weekly selection has been gradually getting worse and worse. I have a very varied taste in music, just needs to be good. According to Spotify and their yearly round up I’m into ‘float house’ whatever the **bleep** that is. Now my discover weekly is full of MoR extremely cheesy house with most songs lasting 2 minute on average. I’ve never liked, never listened to it. The algorithm used to be amazing, and spooky how well it guessed my tastes, now about 95% of it I wouldn’t touch.
Sorry but the solution you provided actually doesnt work for me. I also get songs in the Discovery Weekly more than once (in different weeks). Really, I wont use it anymore but fine, luckily I have other playlists...
A bit disappointing from Spotify's side.
Same with Discover Weekly and now my Premiere Radaris useless too, I bet that this algorithm is told to recommend "preferred" artists, just like Google Gemini prompt does.
My guess is they simply use my data records from some years ago, coz again, I remember Discover Weekly being more than brilliant around 2018, then a constant decline. Really, it looks like a constant repetition of some tips I was getting back in 2018, it is so frustrating. But next week they made me discover a new artist I like quite a lot, NIRVANA, anybody heard of them? Thanks Discover Weekly to make me discover this fantastic band, wow
I have this problem too. I constntly get shown the same type of post-punk, alternative music. In the last 2 years I've been listening to a lot of reggae, latin music and italian music, but I never got a single suggestion in that direction. Is there anyway to reset my Discover Weekly? It is the most annoying playlist I could imagine. Needless to say, I've been reporting this for super long, but Spotify didn't change a thing.
