Hi @Ian39,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

This could be related to some caching issue. Could you try deleting the prefs file, as it holds information on the current logged in user? Here's how:

  1. Make sure the Spotify app is closed and isn't running in the background.
  2. Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Spotify, find the prefs file and delete it. Your downloads won't be affected so no worries.
  3. Start the Spotify app, log in to your account and turn on Offline mode.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!

Thanks for your help, but the issue is still present on PC and Android, but it's not a big problem, i got used... now there are worst things. External storage create conflicts with the Android app..

Hey @Ian39,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

Regarding the downloaded albums, if possible, would you mind asking a friend or relative to log in to their account on your devices and check if the same happens? This would help us understand if it's account related.

On another note, can you let us know exactly what's happening with the Android app while using external storage? Just to confirm, is it an SD card? We'd also like to know when it started happening or if it's always been like that.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Hi Eni, thaks for the reply, I will try to let someone else login into my phone with their account.

About the SD card issue there is already an ongoing tread

Re: Spotify doesn't work at all when I use my SD c... - The Spotify Community

this morning I've tried something else

Solutions I've tried:

1 factory reset of phone

2 creating a new google account

3 downloading Spotify from googleplay

4 starting Spotify without SD card

(working)

5 inserting formatted SD card

Spotify still working

6 changing storage path to SD card

NOT working (popup message "we weren't able to etc etc)

7 restarting phone

Spotify now is using the SD card

App NOT working

8 Unistanlling SD card

Spotify work

9 changing storage path to internal

Spotify work

10 installing SD card

Spotify recognize SD card in storage path - but I let it use the the internal storage

Spotify work

To sum up, regardless of the:

google account (new or old)

spotify account (new or old)

SD card (new or old)

the problem still persist

When ever the SD is used by Spotify, the app breaks. untill the SD card is inserted but NOT used by Spotify the app work

I wonder what system app permission are required to let Spotify work correctly, I tweaked my settings apps (but are the same as when Spotify was working). Spotify right now has granted all the permission and is NOT under power saving mode or background usage limits.
